Daniel Shapiro’s Squiggle #227 is hand-built using California stoneware through a combination of ceramic techniques. Elements are thrown on the wheel, or extruded, then painstakingly assembled to create a one-of-a-kind form. Hundreds of spikes are applied by hand and painted in 24k gold.

While each Squiggle Lamp is similar in concept they are all unique in form and finish. The process of building the lamps is its own creative journey, with the end result being a personality of its own.
