Sales Executive

COUP D’ETAT is a leading design showroom and gallery representing a curated selection of collectible furniture, lighting, and decorative objects from some of today’s most compelling designers and makers. Operating at the intersection of art and design, we serve both the professional interior design trade and discerning private clients.

Our galleries are known for pushing boundaries in product curation, visual presentation, and client experience. The environment is fast-paced, collaborative, and deeply rooted in the world of high-end design.

We are seeking a Sales Executive to join our San Francisco gallery.

This is a senior revenue-generating role with significant autonomy and accountability for building and managing a portfolio of design clients. The position requires a highly motivated sales professional who thrives in a relationship-driven environment and is comfortable managing complex, high-value projects with interior designers, architects, and private clients.

The Sales Executive will manage both inside and outside sales, actively develop new business opportunities, and maintain strong relationships with key accounts. This role carries meaningful expectations around performance, client development, and revenue generation.

The ideal candidate combines a strong sales background with a genuine passion for design, art, and architecture, along with a polished personal aesthetic aligned with the COUP D’ETAT brand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new and nurture existing client relationships to generate consistent sales revenue
  • Build a deep understanding of client sourcing habits, purchasing preferences, and project timelines
  • Represent the COUP D’ETAT brand professionally with clients, vendors, and at industry events
  • Address client concerns and service issues with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
  • Maintain gallery standards, organization, and visual presentation
  • Execute company sales initiatives and contribute to overall showroom sales goals
  • Meet or exceed individual sales targets and performance objectives
  • Support additional company initiatives and projects as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • 3–5+ years of experience in luxury furniture, design, or related industry sales
  • Proven success in both inside and outside sales environments
  • CRM experience required (NetSuite or Salesforce preferred)
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Passion for interior design, decorative arts, architecture, and collectible design
  • Experience with design software (AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, WordPress) is a plus but not required
  • Ability to work on the showroom floor for extended periods and lift small items up to 50 lbs
