Archipelago is serene, yet imposing; elegant while retaining a certain brusqueness; decidedly referential and at the same time holding an undeniable industrial fluency. Each mountain crest is hand carved in wax before being cast in bronze and affixed to bronze sheet, then welded, sanded, polished, and patinated to achieve a seamless topography. The hundreds of hours of handwork and light mottling of the patina imbues each piece with an ineffable atmosphere. Made in collaboration with Nick King.
