Subject Details:
A blackbird murmuration is a large flock of blackbirds that fly in complex patterns, often in tight formation.
From a distance, a murmuration can look like a dark cloud of smoke hanging over a field. As it gets closer, you can see that it’s actually a living cloud of birds.
Birds perform murmurations to confuse predators, such as hawks.
