Sylva Rowan Hook

Inspired by abstract tree forms, the Sylva Rowan Hook is a functional sculptural piece cast in metal. Its name comes from Sylva, an Old English word from the Latin silva, meaning wood or forest.

Each hook is first hand-sculpted in wax, then cast and hand-patinated. The patination process uses layered mixes and heat treatment to create unique colour variations on every piece. A simple, modern hook with natural, organic character.

Shown here in Bronze with a Brass Patina.

Bronze Finish Disclaimer

This piece is crafted with a bronze finish that will naturally evolve over time. Bronze is a living finish, and if left un-lacquered, it will patina with time as the surface develops subtle variations in colour and tone through exposure to air, handling, and environmental conditions. This is an inherent and desirable characteristic of bronze, enhancing its depth, character, and individuality. These changes are part of the intended aesthetic and are not considered defects.

Verdigris Finish Disclaimer

This table features a Verdigris finish, which is designed to naturally evolve over time. Verdigris is a living patina, meaning the surface will gradually develop variations in colour, tone, and texture as it reacts to its environment and use. If left un-lacquered, this finish will remain a living surface and will continue to patina with time. This process, known as patination, is a normal and desirable characteristic that enhances the unique beauty and authenticity of the piece. Each table will age differently, and these changes are not considered defects but part of the intended aesthetic.

Aluminium Finish Disclaimer

This hook is made from aluminium. While it will not develop a traditional patina, the surface may darken slightly or develop subtle mottling over time due to natural exposure and use. These changes are normal and part of the material’s inherent character, and are not considered defects.

Available in Burgundy patina.
